Gemini Surveys Sailing Team attending the Half Ton Classics Cup
Gemini Surveys’ members participated at the 11th Half Ton Classics Cup organized by The Koninklijke YachtClub Nieuwpoort & Brussels Royal YachtClub.
The crew made up of some Gemini Surveys staff consultants ran with success all races including the long Coastal course under a burning sun, a lot of wind & rough seas.
We deeply thank our skipper Thibaut for his engagement, professionalism and team spirit.
Beside the sport competition, we were proud to meet a 100% feminine concurrent crew boat racing for a charity cause: « Mothers & Midwives Support » gathering funds to finance an ambulance boat for the Monvu Hospital and the Idjwi Island in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Evi Van Acker, Belgian Laser Radial Olympic Bronze Medalist, patron of this charity action, came supporting the feminine crew at Half Ton Classics Cup on day 3.
During her conference at the Yacht Club, she explained at length why this ambulance boat is essential for this region and her implication in charity cause.
At the time of writing, we understood that the amount necessary to buy the ambulance boat had not yet been reached, so we didn’t hesitate to visit their website and learn about their ambitious and helpful project.
Affected by this problematic greatly relayed by the 100% feminine crew members and Evi Van Acker, Gemini Surveys staff decided to support their action by offering a financial aid and by giving visibility for their cause to the maritime insurance industry.
